Rolled Sugar Cookies
For your holiday cookie shape cutting pleasure!
Makes 5 dz. 2" cookies
1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract optional
2 1/2 c. AP flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Mix butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add egg and flavorings. Sift dry ingredients then add . Refrigerate 2-3 hours.
Heat oven to 375 degrees
Divide the dough in to 2 parts and roll put first part to 3/16th inch thick, either on parchment or a falt surface dusted with flour. Cut and place on baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment and chill while rolling out remaining dough.
Bake 7-8 minutes till just golden.
